Requirements & Install
What you need before uploading the module, and how to activate it.
Requirements
- WHMCS 8.x or 9.x.
- PHP as required by your WHMCS version.
- A running WHMCS daily cron (executes due requests and prunes the log).
- A valid license key — entered in the module configuration after activation. The key is emailed after purchase and is also available in the client area under Account → My Products → manage product.
- (Optional) reCAPTCHA Site + Secret keys — only needed if you enable the captcha on the password step; register them in the Google reCAPTCHA admin console and paste both into Settings.
Upload & install
- Upload the module folder — copy
deleteAccount/intoWHMCS_ROOT/modules/addons/. - Activate — in the admin area go to Configuration → System Settings → Addon Modules, find Delete/Close Account and click Activate.
- Enter your license key — click Configure, paste the key and save.
- Open the module — click the module name, review Settings (mode, grace days, captcha, notifications, panels, retention), and you are live.
Activation creates the hsc_da_requests, hsc_da_settings, hsc_da_log, hsc_da_surveys and hsc_da_codes tables, seeds default settings, and seeds the five email templates only when their names are missing (re-activation can never duplicate them).
Upgrading from v1
If you ran the legacy v1 module (mod_deleteaccount / mod_deleteaccountconfig tables): back up the database, upload the new folder, and re-activate — settings and pending requests migrate automatically into the new hsc_da_* tables; existing rows are never overwritten. The legacy tables are left in place and only removed on deactivate when Delete Module Data is ticked. Afterwards, every admin page visit re-runs the idempotent schema pass, so upgrades never need re-activation.
