Admin Usage Guide

The module has five admin screens — all reachable from the addon's own top menu. This guide walks through each one the way you will use it day to day.

Dashboard

The landing page is your control tower. At the top, an engine banner tells you at a glance whether the menu engine is enabled (green) or disabled (amber — stock WHMCS menus render while it is off).

Stat cards

Four animated cards summarize the four navbars — Visitors Primary, Visitors Secondary, Clients Primary, Clients Secondary. Each card counts up to its total items and shows how many are enabled plus the running click total. The icons float gently; numbers roll up on load.

Menu Clicks Analytics

A bar chart of the top 8 clicked items across all menus, each tagged with its menu. Use it to see which links visitors actually use — a good prompt for reordering or promoting items. With no clicks yet it shows a friendly empty message instead of an empty chart.

Overview & Recent Activity

Two side-by-side panels. Overview lists grand totals (items, enabled, custom, clicks) with jump buttons to the Visitors menu, Clients menu and Settings. Recent Activity streams the latest 8 log entries with their colored action badges — click View full log for the complete audit trail.

Each menu page has Primary Navbar and Secondary Navbar tabs. The grid shows, per row: the item (bold label, breadcrumb path for nested items, muted internal name), its link URL, sort order, click count and status badge. Row actions:

  • Edit — opens the item editor in a modal window.
  • ↑ / ↓ — move the item within its level (logged to the activity log).
  • Enable / Disable — quick status switch with confirmation (logged).
  • Delete — custom items only (logged); their children move up one level. Stock items show a disabled delete button — hide or disable them instead.

Add Custom Item (one button per tab) creates a link WHMCS does not ship — a status page, helpdesk, affiliate landing page, anything. The navbar is fixed by the tab you came from, so items always land in the right menu.

Modal saves only — the grid refreshes (with a yellow row flash) only when the editor modal actually saves. Opening it and cancelling — or closing it with × — leaves the table exactly as it was.

Item editor fields

Every field, top to bottom as it appears in the editor:

  • Menu — read-only confirmation of the navbar (Primary/Secondary) the item belongs to. To place an item in the other navbar, close the editor and use the other tab.
  • Menu name — the internal WHMCS name. Shown read-only for stock items; editable for custom items (must stay unique within the menu).
  • Parent item — (Top level) or any other item, indented with -- per depth. Dividers are never offered — they cannot have children. Moving an item under a new parent takes effect immediately on save.
  • Labels — the first field carries your WHMCS default language (English Label), followed by one field per Available Language (Arabic Label, …). Leave a translation empty to fall back: visitor language → your customized label → WHMCS language file. The main label is required.
  • Link URL — relative (clientarea.php?action=services) or absolute (https://…); # makes a placeholder parent that only opens its submenu.
  • Icon — FontAwesome classes such as fas fa-star (see the icon list in the admin help). Renders before the label on all three templates; empty removes the icon.
  • CSS Class — your own class appended to the item for custom styling; empty clears it. Divider classes are protected and can never be wiped.
  • Badge — a live counter pill (clients pages only; the field is hidden on visitor menus). Pick from services, domains, invoices, tickets or credit balance — full list in Clicks & Activity Log.
  • Order — numeric sort position within the level (the ↑/↓ buttons adjust this for you).
  • Status — the on/off switch: on = enabled (rule applies), off = disabled (item removed from output). In the modal the Save button lives in the modal footer; on the full page it sits under the form.

Statuses explained

  • Enabled — the rule applies (label, link and order are enforced).
  • Disabled — the item is removed from the menu output.
  • Hidden (legacy) — behaves exactly like disabled; new edits store disabled.

Typical workflows

  • Rename “Home” to “Dashboard” in two languages — Clients menu → Edit Home → set English Label to Dashboard and fill the second language field → Save. The grid flashes the updated row.
  • Hide a menu for visitors but keep it for clients — open the Visitors menu and disable the item; the Clients row is a separate item and stays enabled.
  • Add a Helpdesk link under Support — Clients menu, Primary tab → Add Custom Item → name it, set Parent to Support, paste the URL, optionally add an icon → Save.
  • Show open-ticket counts — edit the Tickets item on the Clients menu, set Badge to Active tickets, Save, and view as a logged-in client.
  • Revert everything instantly — Settings → turn the engine off. All edits are kept for when you turn it back on.

Menu data

The live menu tree is imported automatically on the first client area page view after activation. Edit freely — your labels, links, order and translations are stored per menu item and enforced on every client area page.
